Abstract
An intelligent approach to establishing link parameters of importance in the optical wireless channel is proposed. A genetic algorithm (GA) is used to perform a selection technique for the link parameters with minimal cost. An artificial neural (ANN) network then adapts the channel with the best fit of learning sets. The objectives include an attempt to exploit the power of hybrid intelligent systems in the outdoor optical wireless channel and a prediction of a reliable adaptation technique that contributes to best possible bit-error-rate (BER) under certain weather conditions and link characteristics.
