  • Abstract
    Mobile Agent technology is a beneficial technology for conceptualizing, designing, and implementing distributed web software systems. Distributed Geographic Information Service System is a typical distributed system with huge volume of geographic data to search, acquire and analyze. In this article, we firstly introduce the Mobile Agent technology and the importance to implement Geographic Information Service System. Then the necessities for Mobile Agent technology to implement Distributed Geographic Information Service were described from two aspects, i.e. the advantage of Mobile Agent technology and the need of Distributed Geographic Information Service System. The intelligent geographic information service chain construction based on Mobile Agent technology was introduced in the next part, which include the concept, classification and construction model of the Mobile Agent based Distributed Geographic Information Service Chain. Lastly we expatiated the realization of Mobile Agent based Distributed Geographic Information Service System using Java technology, especially the intelligent service chain construction technology. And a utilization example of the Mobile Agent based Geographic Information service chain module is also stated, which includes the Taiwan Strait monitoring information service, marine disaster prediction and prevention information service and so on.
