Abstract :
In this paper, we design an image capture and transmission embedded system (ICTES), which is based on ARM-LINUX, for remote monitoring. Cameras, V4L2 interface technology, Libjpeg and Ftplib, which are open source libraries, are organized and work together to complete the functions of YUV data acquisition, image compression and transmission. Chip Samsung S3C2440A is adopted as hardware development platform and Linux as software platform. Additionally, this designed system-ICTES has those advantages of low cost, simple use and strong expansionary.
