Abstract
In this paper, we present a learning system for musicology that is based on mobile technologies. The system combines content-based retrieval techniques and the mobile push-based approach in order to help a student identify his/her ability to distinguish the different musical genres and to identify the genre of a music file. Not only does the system help the students learn the domain of musicology, but it also teaches them how to use more efficiently many other systems and services that have been developed in the past. The mobile learning system incorporates an Intelligent Tutoring System, previously developed, that assists human tutors to create their own mobile Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITSs) for music education.
