Abstract :
This paper describes an electrical capacitance tomography (ECT) system based on an impedance analyser (HP4192A), which has high resolution, high accuracy and good reliability. A multi-channel multiplexer unit with low coupling capacitance is used for automated data acquisition. The hardware system, including the impedance analyser and the multiplexer unit is controlled by a MatLab Simulink Graphical User Interface (GUI). Image reconstruction algorithms and data analysis are implemented. Preliminary experimental results have been obtained from the system and are given in this paper.
