Abstract :
As one of the most important technical support for "Wireless City", the integration technologies of WLAN and WMAN wireless heterogeneous networks attracts increasing attention. This paper proposes a new vertical handoff algorithm for integration of WIFI and WIMAX wireless network based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation theory considering various factors such as signal strength, terminal moving speed and signal to noise ratio, and succeeds in completion of experimental emulation in NS2. The experimental results indicate the new vertical handoff algorithm decreases "ping-pong "effect and shows excellent performance in stability compared with the handoff algorithm relying on single factor like signal strength.
