Abstract
This paper investigates the application of a Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) to assist a wind turbine driven doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) for uninterrupted power supply to the connected grid even under unbalanced grid voltage conditions. The DVR control is based on symmetrical components and vector control. Rotor Side Converter (RSC) is controlled to maintain stator active power and reactive power constant. Grid Side Converter (GSC) is controlled to maintain a constant dc link voltage. MATLAB/SIMULINK based simulation results for the test set up establish the effectiveness of the proposed control approach.
