Abstract :
With large-scale wind farms integrated into the grid, to insure the security of the point of common coupling (PCC), and decrease the control action cost of the discrete equipment, an area automatic voltage control strategy considering ultra-short-term wind power forecasting is proposed. Area AVC is divided into three hierarchies: system wide control, wind farm level control and equipment level. In this paper, a two-tier and multi-stage control strategy is proposed for the wind farm level control. First tier determines the control strategies of discrete reactive power control equipment spanning several hours based on the ultra-short-term wind power forecasting. The second tier divides the time interval of first tier into multiple stages and gives the strategy of continuous reactive power equipment of each stage. This control strategy can decrease the switching time of the discrete equipment and eliminate the voltage deviation step by step, taking account of economy and security. Finally, a case demonstrates the validity of the strategy.
