Abstract :
Firstly, this paper introduced some present solutions to the partition for automatic voltage/var control systems, and analyzed its present limitation in practice, then proposed a new partition method based on electrical distance to the generator. This method started with the reactive power source, and calculated the shortest path to the generator based on Dijkstra algorithm, then, it used both the partition method and clustering method to finish the whole partition process. To illustrate the validity of our method, some digital test results for IEEE 39-Bus standard system has been presented. The correctness and practicability of this method was proved by comparing our results and that of other papers.
