  • Abstract
    A new fault location algorithm for EHVAC mixed cable-overhead line based on fault zone identification is proposed. When the failure happened, first, according to the uniform transmission line equations, taking cable-overhead line connection point as reference, this article puts forward the fault zone identification method; then, deducts fault point positioning functions in different sections and gets the accuracy position of the fault point by searching or calculating method; finally, conducts quantitative analysis for the influence factors of the algorithm accuracy and conclusions are given. The algorithm uses two-terminal synchronous data, fast calculation speed and high precision, not affected by the failure transition resistance. Simulation shows that this method has a high reliability.
