Abstract :
It is an effective approach to ensure the non-exceeding of the breaking capacity by adopting fault current limiter to restrain short-circuit current. Considering a persistent increase of the short-circuit current level in power grid, a kind of resonant fault current limiter is proposed. The appropriate parameters are selected for the electromagnetic transient simulation analysis on the resonant fault current limiter. The simulation result shows the excellent limiting effect of short-circuit current and overvoltage of the capacitor. Metal Oxide Arrester (MOA) is paralleled across the capacitor to retaining the overvoltage. The simulation and comparative analysis illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the measure.
