Abstract :
The challenges of managing culturally diverse and globally dispersed project teams are examined in a two-year field study of 27 technology-intensive product developments. The findings provide insight into paradigm shifts in the business environment that led to more open, agile management processes and team leadership. The paper suggests a framework for assessing leadership effectiveness together with the critical success factors for effectively leading team in today´s complex project environment.
