Abstract :
TRAK 2.0 is an integrated software system for the design of electron and ion guns, electro-optical devices, and high-power beam transport systems. The code combines the iterative ray tracing technique with finite-element field solution methods to achieve accurate predictions of self-consistent fields. TRAK supports single-particle orbit tracking, automatic generation of beam distributions, space-charge-limited emission from multiple regions, and self-consistent field emission. Typical accuracy for the Child limited current density is 0.05%. The program can handle highly relativistic electron beams. TRAK is a turnkey program for 386/486/Pentium computers with built-in support for extended memory, graphics screens and hardcopy devices.
