Abstract :
This paper describes a new control strategy to improve the performance of shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF). The performance of an active power filter depends on the inverter characteristics, applied control method, and the accuracy of the reference signal generation. The accuracy of the reference signal generator is the most critical item in determining the performance of APF. The new control strategy is based on the combination of low pass filter and Kalman filter based reference current generation. The performance of the reference signal generator was verified through MATLAB. The simulation results confirm that our reference signal generator can be used successfully and perfectly.
