Abstract :
Based on the analysis of characteristics of rural power distribution network, object-oriented method was used to design spatial database for power GIS system, and a kind of GUID (Globally Unique Identifier) code was applied to describe the topology of rural power distribution network to avoid the influences of human errors. By this code, topology of the network can be correctly described and automatically maintained in power GIS system. Many analysis applications can be realized. Some examples show that the topology design proposal is useful.
