Abstract :
A system is described in which a cylindrical liner L is imploded by a Z-pinch. The liner is insulated form the driving magnetic field by a plasma layer created by exploding a thin foil separated from L by foam. The results of this analysis are compared with a one-dimensional numerical simulation of the system.
