  • Abstract
Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) is a no disturbed instantaneous whole-field velocimetric technique which was used in fluid dynamics research widely In this paper, a set of vacuum arc image collection system based on CMOS camera was designed, the principle and application requirement of PIV are discussed in detail. Software to measure PIV is created through the use of Delphi programming language. Analysis of cross-correlation and measurement for relative displacement of vacuum switching arc are realized. All these provide experimental basis for the analysis on basic physical theory of vacuum switching arc.
