Abstract :
Using wavelet to filtering noises on image is an important application of wavelet analysis in image processing. In this paper a de-noising method based on wavelet transform is introduced and applied in image of the vacuum switch arc which is the research object that is polluted by white noise. The result shows that the signal to noise ratio is improved, the quality and resolution of the vacuum arc image is enhanced by the application of wavelet de-noising when proper wavelet basis function and threshold is selected.
