Abstract
In the paper, a ferromagnetic nanocontacts of different materials was formed by electrodeposition and an atomic force microscope was used to measure the magnetostriction of the formed ferromagnetic nanocontacts, the relationship between the ballistic magnetoresistance and magnetostriction of the ferromagnetic nanocontacts was discussed also. In conclusion, the observed high ratio ballistic magnetoresistance maybe related to magnetostriction of the ferromagnetic nanocontacts.
