Abstract
One of the aims of Transparent Computing is that the users can invoke their personalized service without having to pay attention to irrelevant details such as their maintenance, security and management. In this case, the administrator has the requirement to check whether proper applications work in a proper hardware. Existing monitor methods are not suitable for applying to the transparent computing environment. In this paper, we propose a remote resource management method (TMON) for transparent computing, which includes the mechanism using virtualization technology to collect the resource state of the devices and the state of applications. This paper introduces the architecture and modules of TMON and describes the interaction protocol in detail. We also implement and operate TMON in the real system.
