Abstract :
This paper presents the analysis of shape of claw-pole in a PM stepping motor. The analysis of claw-pole PM stepping motor must consider magnetic saturation effect and leakage flux, because analyzed results can change with the magnetic characteristics of iron material. Generally, 3-Dimensional FEM was used in this case[1]. But 3-Dimensional FEM needs too much computation time. So, in this paper, modified magnetic equivalent circuit method to consider the magnetic saturation and the leakage flux was proposed. This proposed method points out the B-H curve of iron material approximated by fitting function and the flux linkage calculation by iteration routine. To verify the proposed method, flux linkage calculated by this method was compared with the result of 3-Dimensional FEM.
