Abstract :
Enlightened by the phenomenon of mutation and disaster in the biology evolution procession, an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) was proposed. Not only can the improved PSO heighten particle diversity and avoid premature problem, but also maintains the characteristic of fast speed search to achieve global optimum. Simulation results of Benchmark testing show that the global optimum solution can easily be found. Its superiority has been verified when applied to the optimal design of electromagnetic relay. However, it is also an urgent problem to decrease the algorithmic complexity and the computational burden of the new algorithm.
