Abstract
Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) generates electric power using the temperature difference between warm seawater at surface and cold seawater in depth. Uehara cycle uses an ammonia-water mixture as a working fluid and a separator for separating dry vapor form a wet vapor of the working fluid. In this research, a simulation model of the evaporator and separator in an OTEC plant using the Uehara cycle is constructed by using some physical laws and experimental data. Validity of the proposed simulation model is checked by the comparison between simulation and experimental results.
