Abstract
In this paper we propose a method for enhancement of dynamic range of tactile stimulation amplitude generated remotely with Airborne Ultrasound Tactile Display (AUTD). We attribute the importance of this issue to the improvement of generated force intensity and widened workspace due to the harmonic multi-unit AUTD scheme. The proposed method utilizes the weighted mean strategy among two different discrete output amplitudes. A numerical experiment was carried out to verify the validity of our method, which has shown the drastic reduction of relative errors from desired focal pressures. The influence of spatial focusing violation with our method is discussed as well.
