Abstract :
This paper presents education of Foundation Fieldbus, an all-digital, serial, two-way communication standard oriented primarily on requirements of process industries. The purpose is to educate interested students in the technology that can serve as a common infrastructure for any process automation system from basic regulatory control to safety applications. Foundation certified training that prepares students to install and configure fieldbus measurement devices and implement fieldbus-based controls in the most demanding plant automation applications is described as an excellent example of fieldbus education.
