Abstract :
Recent development work has led to improved methods employing aerial ultrasonic waves for detecting defects in solid materials such as metals, pipe walls, and fiber-reinforced plastics. We considered a new method to attempt detecting defect in solid materials using high-intensity ultrasonic waves and optical equipment. In this report, we examine the effectiveness of the method through experiment and finite-element method analysis.
