Abstract :
This paper proposes a method of automatically determining the parameter needed to digitally process compensation for the creep error generated by a load cell. The method determines the appropriateness of the currently set creep compensation parameter using an output value that has been used to compensate for the creep immediately after unloading, and then automatically adjusts the parameter if necessary. The effectiveness of the method was verified via use of a computer to process an output signal that included the creep error obtained from a load cell. If an inappropriate parameter was intentionally set the method automatically adjusted the parameter, and then accurately compensated for the generated creep error.
