Abstract :
The on-site command and rescue action after a destructive earthquake occurs will be associated with emergency requests of various information, such as the seismic and disaster information, the local population, economic and building distribution, the road traffic information, the rescue team and their action information, the relief material and equipment information etc. The effective management of the information is one of the key measures to enhance the on-site emergency ability. The GIS-based Earthquake Field Emergency Command Management Information System (MapEFMIS 2007 for Windows) is a management information system developed specially for data management and information services of the on-site command of earthquake emergency and rescue, the seismic damage survey, loss estimation and the post-earthquake scientific investigation of earthquake induced geological disasters, the surface rupture, the structure damage etc. The system, based on GIS and database, is developed according to the practical field requests, emergency work environment, data category as well as data collection and exchange modes etc. The design idea and main functions of MapEFMIS are introduced in the paper.
