Abstract
Energy and lifetime are of paramount importance in wireless sensor network applications. Fit function´s parameters selection is a noteworthy factor for a point coverage network. In this paper, we used gravity method to optimize the parameters of sensor monitoring selection for each round in a point coverage network. To ameliorate this selection, surplus nodes are deleted; the cost of data transmission is considered while checking the energy of relay nodes. Reducing the number of active sensors, in a covering set, saves more energy and consequently increases lifetime. GA was used in previous papers. In this paper, we used Gravitational Search Algorithm (GSA). Simulation results show that our new method is superior to former algorithms in the aspects of parameters optimization, lifetime increase and energy consumption.
