Abstract
A comparative evaluation of the performances of two current control techniques namely dead beat controller and hysteresis current controller is presented in this paper. A discrete Kalman Filter is used for reference current estimation for compensating delays occurring due to digital signal processing. In order to test the effectiveness of these two controllers, simulation has been carried out considering single phase SAPF (Shunt Active Power Filter) using MATLAB. From the obtained results, it is observed that the hysteresis controller outperforms the dead beat controller in terms of exhibiting fast transient response and computational simplicity.
