Abstract :
Physical experiment in engineering education is necessary. But there are not enough teaching resources for students to fully understand the experiment, because the physical experimental equipment is expensive, bulky and scarce. Then virtual experiment can be widely used in education. Taking the experiment of the air gaps breakdown at AC high voltage for an example, this paper represents the design of the virtual experimental software. This software is used in the lab courses, and the teaching effectiveness is very good according to the feedbacks of students.
