Abstract :
This article summarises overall mass flows of WEEE in Germany and takes a closer look at large household appliances because of their mass relevance for the overall collection targets of the WEEE Directive (Recast), and at smaller appliances that contain relevant amounts of valuable strategic elements. Based on the dynamic market situation of several appliances with relevant content of strategic elements, conclusions are made regarding instruments to improve collection rates.
