Abstract
Nowadays, more and more research using learning styles for learner modelling are conducted. Considering learning styles, investigations are motivated by educational and psychological theories, which argue that learners have different ways in which they prefer to learn. However, several important questions are still open and controversial issues are under discussion. The main challenge is to clarify these controversies, answer the open questions and provide a clear understanding of the field. In this article, we attempt to respond to some pertinent questions by analysing different views´ points of researchers. Next, we expose our approach which aims at proposing a generic model of learning styles. We will detail after, our framework architecture to detect automatically the learner learning style.
