Abstract
Advantages of the switched-capacitor power converters are pointed out. Operation principles of ideal asymmetrical classical inductorless power converters with fractional conversion ratio are explained and simple design equations are derived. The results are justified with PSPICE simulation of a representative 5V to 3V power converter with ideal switches and capacitors but also using models of real MOSFET switches and capacitors.
