Abstract :
In communication world, optical wireless channels are well known for availability of huge bandwidth apart from its suitability for high rate indoor data transfer. Also the researchers have reported in literature the superior performance of Interleave-Division Multiple-Access (IDMA) scheme to conventional Code-Division Multiple-Access (CDMA) scheme in terms of complexity and user count along with the bit error rate (BER). In this paper, the performance of IDMA scheme has been examined as a multiple access technique for optical wireless communication (OWC) with indoor wireless channel model. The indoor propagation channel model which considers additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) model as more appropriate for significant background light has been simulated. The simulation results demonstrate the significant improvement in bit error rate (BER) performance of uncoded wireless optical IDMA in comparison to uncoded IDMA system with large user count.
