Abstract :
In this article experimental results of a capacitor run single phase induction motor are presented. Regarding the motor´s special construction which has two independent windings inserted in the same stator slots a test bench was developed that allows motor testing using virtual instrumentation. Also a power and control circuit was created to permit motor´s start and stop from Labview. Speed versus torque characteristics were obtained using a hysteresis dynamometer, a programmable high speed controller and PC. For data accuracy the graphs were compared with other 2 sets gathered from different brakes. Representative curves for the motor are also presented. Due to the motor´s unsymmetrical rotor´s parameters calculus is presented.
