Abstract :
This paper present a possible solution to reducing the voltage sags in microgrid. A micro-grid is a weak electrical grid which can be easily subjects to disturbances. In order to improve the operation of the microgrid short-term storage are used. In terms of improving the Power Quality (PQ) it is need to come up with the solution of the power failures and temporary disruption (voltage sags). This perturbation may occur either because of climate change for renewable sources or by connecting an important load to the micro-grid. The presented results in this paper are obtained by using Matlab/SimPowerSystems. The model was developed using an active power filter (APF) with a typical topology of three phases - three legs. The main goal is to reduce the voltage sags using an active power filter based on Electrochemical Double Layer Capacitors (EDLCs) modules. Using EDLCs the PQ is sensitive improved regarding especially the voltage sags. Because that PQ is a significant issue for power suppliers and customers, this study justifies its importance.
