Abstract :
This paper proposes a mathematical model for the rotationally sampled wind speed fluctuation in relation to large wind turbine structure dynamics. The model encloses the wind speed fluctuations seen by a point on the blade at a given distance from the hub, the deterministic components induced by wind shear and tower shadow effects, and also the components generated by the tower and blades dynamics. Through numerical and frequency analyze it is revealed the dual effect of the model over the wind speed properties and wind system behavior.
