Abstract
Information-centric network (ICN) has been recognized as one prospective approach for redesigning network architecture. In ICN, name based resolution/routing (NBRR) needs to be designed to discover and retrieve the closest copy of information by its name. Herein, we firstly identify the design requirements of NBRR, and propose a reference architecture as Named Information Network Architecture (NINA). In NINA, we devise aggregatable name based routing (ANBR), which can naturally support anycast-capable routing to retrieve the closest copy of information. It is obvious that ANBR can achieve better performance than the existing work, such as Content-Centric Network (CCN). Meanwhile, we examine the capacity of ANBR in global scale, which shows that ANBR can accommodate the minimum of 1.5*10^22 bytes data and 2.4*10^15 data items.
