Abstract :
In the presented paper a method to calculate the excitability of different modes of vibration of stator end windings is presented. The method uses the results of an analytical modal analysis and of a calculation of the electromagnetic forces in the stator end winding region as the main input and allows for the calculation of the excitability of a regarded mode of vibration due to a given force distribution within a very short calculation time.
