Abstract :
The doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) motor is derived from switched reluctance motor (SRM). But its mechanical property is not same as the SRM due to its structure with permanent magnet material. In this paper, its operational principles are introduced at first. And then the mathematical model about a typical 8/6-pole motor is proposed including such formulas as voltage equation, linkage equation, torque equation and motion equation. At last, the mechanical properties of DSPM motor are deduced from above formulas. Both mathematical consequence and simulation on MATLAB have shown that the DSPM motor possesses soft properties similar to those of the series DC motor.
