Abstract :
A new modified adaptive backstepping technique is applied to static var compensator (SVC) system with time-delay. By the modified adaptive backstepping method in which the class-k functions are introduced to Lyapunov function, a novel robust control law is designed for a single-machine infinite-bus system with uncertain parameter. In the process of recursive design, without any linearizing the nonlinear time-delay system, the controller preserves nonlinear characteristic, has strong robustness for unknown parameter, improves the transient response of the closed loop system, and effectively resolves the time-delay problem of response process of static var compensator. Simulation examples in further verify the validity of the controller designed.
