Abstract :
We first conduct an optimization design to a parallel-wire conductance probe by using Finite Element Method (FEM). The probe optimal geometry is determined in terms of two sensitive field parameters, i.e. sensitivity variation parameter (Svp) and average sensitivity (Savg). In addition, we carry out the flow loop test in horizontal oil-water two-phase flow pipe. The experimental results indicate that the parallel-wire conductance probe can not only have a significant resolution for phase volume fraction of oil-water two-phase flow but also show good measurement characteristics for cross-correlation velocity.
