Abstract
The effect of different types of chemical synapse on vibrational resonance in coupled neurons is investigated. Three coupled FitzHugh-Nagumo neurons, under high-frequency driving, to a subthreshold low-frequency signal are studied. We show that with the chemical synapse ranging from slow to fast, the signal processing efficiency is at first increasing and then remain unchanged. The influence of time delay of different motifs on vibrational resonance is also analyzed.
