Abstract :
Intravenous drug users (IDU) sharing needle is a major mode of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) transmission. IDU sharing needles network, interventions and social influences that courage or discourage needle sharing can impact HIV transmission. This paper constructed a two-layer complex agent network model to study the dynamics of the HIV epidemic in IDU community. A two dimensional regular network layer is used to represent daily social interactions and social influences transmission within a population. A cave small world network layer is used to represent social interactions and the spread of HIV in this population. Each individual agent on network has his own specified information and rules to react to social influences and HIV testing interventions. Our simulation study the dynamics of the disease spread for different social influences, small world rewire probabilities and HIV testing interventions.
