Abstract
To meet the need of real-time multimedia communications in wireless local area network(WLAN) in desirable quality of service, A quality of service mechanism based on Proportional Integral Derivative control is proposed, with detailed research of its operation principle and approaches, the transfer function of controller and 802.11 WLAN and the bandwidth compensation algorithm are given too. Followed by simulations of feedback control system in WLAN, the simulation experimental results show that the PID Control Based quality of service mechanism can satisfy need for quality of service of real-time multimedia communications in WLAN.
