Abstract :
This is the first of an eight-part series on intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship. I will describe the crucial aspects of creating and managing a new business within a company and how an engineer can successfully start a company risk free. Intrapreneurship and entrepreneurship have different challenges, but share similar commercialization processes, and it is often a natural progression for a capable engineer to gain business experience working as an intrapreneur before starting down the path to become an entrepreneur.
