Abstract
The Korea Railroad Research Institute is under development of the Korea wireless communication based train control system, and has the plan to operate a trial track between the Ilro station and Daebul station in Mokpo-city of Jeollanam-do to perform the functional test and trial-run test on the train control system. Since the frequency dedicated to railways is not secured in Korea at present, we would like to build WiFi communication infrastructures for the operation of Korea wireless communication based train control system on the test track. This paper is on the analysis of communication coverage through analysis on the communication environment, and the seamless communication for train control is possible even in case of the train movement at high speed (max 120km/h) by installing wayside radio communication devices with the adequate distances through it.
