Abstract
In this note, we briefly describe a track management solution to a multi-target tracking problem for an FMCW radar network. A sequence of beat frequency measurements obtained from collocated FMCW radars are used directly to initiate new tracks and update established tracks. The track initiations and updates are performed sequentially with beat frequency measurements on a chirp by chirp basis. This direct and sequential processing eliminates range/range-rate calculations and a multilateration processing. It also decomposes the measurement-to-track association problem into a series of two-dimensional assignment problems that can be solved with much less computational effort. Monte Carlo simulations were performed to evaluate the track management solution.
