  • Abstract
    Characteristics of several magnetically insulated ion diodes are presented. Included are results for anode plasma density and turn on rate, beam quality, and microwave and x-ray emission characteristics as a function of diode parameters. By the use of nonhydrocarbon anode materials, 25–50 A/cm2 Li, B, C, Na, and Ba beams have been produced.
